Born in Santo Domingo, Gricelys Rosario holds a M.S. in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University (Fulbright Fellowship) and a B. Arch. (Hons) from Universidad Iberoamericana. She has worked as a freelance architect since 2006 (collaborating in the offices eja architettura, cluster, avventura urbana, carlorattiassociati, simples arquitectura and giudicelli-vidal asociados) and is a founding partner of colectivo. She was awarded in 2006 a Fulbright Fellowship and a SEESCyT/Government of Taiwan Scholarship; in 2001 a PIES Intec Fellowship, a Falconbridge Scholarship and the 2001 National Young Talent Award for academic achievement. Her thesis project was selected for the exhibition ‘1000 Thinkers. 1000 Postcards. Architecture and the mail’ of the Architectural League of New York and received the ‘2005 UNIBE Environmental Science Prize’ for the project HidroBus Santo Domingo 2005-2050. She lives and works in Torino, and is currently a PhD Candidate in History of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Politecnico di Torino.
