Alessandro Mengozzi graduated in Political Sciences from the University of Bologna. He completed an MA in Social Geography and Participatory Methods, and a PhD in History and Geography of Europe at the University of Bologna before working there as contract researcher in 2008.

His interests concern theoretical geographical models, governance issues, participatory democracy and methods, human cartography and GIS. Moreover, he has worked at a draft of a regional law for the promotion of participatory democracy.
