The Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona opened the call for projects for the 6th edition ‘The European Prize For Urban Public Space’. The aim of the biennial competition is to recognize and encourage the recovery projects and defense of public space in our cities. Deadline for submissions is January 29 2010.

On occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Prize the CCCB has launched a new portal on the city and public space, which, as well as offering information on projects, debates and exhibitions on cities, contains a rich virtual urban library publishing papers and essays on urban issues penned by influential thinkers and authors, among them: Zygmunt Bauman, Manuel Castells, Peter Hall, Saskia Sassen, Eyal Weizman and many others.
